The Smart Card reader is entirely different than the SD card reader. I've not had a thinkpad w/ smart card reader as my primary machine, although I've always been intrigued to toy with it for logon. I bought a very well-spec'd X240 on closeout at a super price. It has 180GB SSD, 8GB RAM, fingerprint reader and the IPS (non-touch) display for 0. Only problem is that I need a smart card reader and hate USB add-ons when a built-in solution is available.Available Drivers.
