If i remember correctly, it was only the 5v smartmedia cards that could be used with Roland JP808, MC-505 etc. Standard 3.3v cards won't work. I've been trying to find a couple of 128 SmartMedia cards for Roland and Korg equipment. It seems that all I can find is used at prices much higher than other memory types. Anyone have any suggestions?
Are you sure you bought a 5V smartmedia card? XP-30 uses the older sm standard (5V instead of newer 3.3V) so you need to hunt one down. Roland model codes were something like S2M-5 and S4M-5 for the 2MB and 4MB . Roland JP-8080 Smart Media Card Compatibility. You can use either 4MB 5 volt cards or 2mMB 5 volt cards.
